A woman has divided opinion after sharing a snap of her ‘traditional’ English fry up online – which included garden peas.
Jessica O, from the UK, took to the Rate My Plate Twitter group and shared a photo of her English breakfast – which featured three sausages, three hash browns, two eggs, beans, two pieces of meat and peas.
And it was the latter ingredient that caused quite the stir online – with one even branding the inclusion of peas ‘a criminal offence.’
‘No mushrooms, no black pudding, no fried bread, no toast, no mug of tea. Gammon instead of bacon, this eggs and wtf are the peas about. In who’s world is that a Full English,’ wrote one, while a second joked: ‘2020 has been a year of many disappointments. …and now someone is putting peas on a “full English.” I think that may be the last straw.’

Taking to the comments section, one person penned: ‘2020 has been a year of many disappointments. …and now someone is putting peas on a “full English.” I think that may be the last straw’ (pictured)
A third shared a snap of his version of a full English fry-up and penned: ‘Forgive me for the hash browns but my lads love them. No peas in sight; peas for breakfast never, ever.’
Meanwhile, a fourth took to the post, which quickly garnered thousands of comments, and penned: ‘That’s a dinner, not a breakfast…Peas???… still looks lovely though…’
But it wasn’t just the peas that caused a reaction, it was also the pieces of meat – which appeared to be gammon rather than bacon.
‘That’s not a full English, it’s barely a half English. Black pudding & fried slice or GTFO. Replace the hash browns (?!) with bubble.
Another commented: ‘That’s a dinner, not a breakfast….Peas???…’ (pictured)
‘Ditch the peas, replace with tinned tomatoes. Ditch that “bacon” and replace with something properly streaky. Then maybe we can talk.’
Another commented: ‘PEAS on a fry up? Na and that’s not even proper bacon. I’d pass,’ while a further wrote:
‘No peas in an English Breakfast. Proper bacon too not that processed stuff on there. Mushrooms, tomatoes and optional black pudding are missing. Hash browns are ok but they are not part of it either.’
Meanwhile, another sparked an entirely different issue altogether and wrote: ‘That looks fab… but WHATS WITH THE BEAN JUICE TOUCHING THE SAUSAGES AND BACON. Bean juice should only touch the bean.’
