Who should I bet on in the race?
Templegate – WEST END CHARMER was impressive when running away with a hot handicap at Newmarket 12 days ago. He was coming back from a year off so, provided that hasn’t taken too much out of him, he should improve again for this step up in distance. He is well handicapped under a 4lb penalty.
Matt Chapman – DURSTON could be interesting off the pace here for Dave Simcock. He probably needs to improve again to land this type of event, but he’ll be held up off the pace by the hugely inform Jim Crowley and can come thundering home. Back him eachway in case he gets unlucky in running.
Trends – EL MISK gets the trends verdict. He fits the age profile, has a distance win to his name and comes from John Gosden who has won and had two other places in this during the past decade.
