Aaron Cresswell lined up for £2.5m transfer to Premier League rivals with West Ham 'open to selling defender' | The Sun

WOLVES are in talks to sign West Ham star Aaron Cresswell, according to reports.

Julen Lopetegui is exploring ways to improve his squad ahead of his first full season in charge.

And he reportedly likes Cresswell, who is in talks with the club according to the Daily Mail.

It is believed Wolves are planning to spend around £2.5million on the left-back – having spent a similar fee to sign Craig Dawson from the Hammers in January.

Cresswell, 33, has made 331 appearances for West Ham but could be ready to move after losing his place in the side last season.

David Moyes reportedly wants to sign a young left-back and that could spell the end of Cresswell's nine-year stay in East London.

The defender could be keen to move closer to his home in Merseyside where he is currently building a new £4m house.

Wolves are in the market for several additions this summer including highly-rated Bristol City youngster Alex Scott.

They recently received a boost in their pursuit of the youngster after the Robins reduced their asking price from £25m to £20m.

Scott, who has been dubbed the "Guernsey Grealish", was crowned the Championship's Young Player of the Year in April.
