Anthony Joshua advantage in Fury fight as footage of trainer Rob McCracken in Gypsy King’s corner on debut bout emerges – The Sun

ANTHONY JOSHUA has the chance to get a small insight into Tyson Fury’s boxing brain – as his trainer has also cornered the Gypsy King.

Fury began his professional career in 2008, and Rob McCracken led the corner the night the 6ft 9in traveller beat Bela Gyongyosi within a round.

McCracken also trained the Manchester heavyweight throughout 2009 before Fury’s uncle Hugh took reign of his training camp.

Team GB coach McCracken now trains unified champion Joshua having been together since AJ’s amateur days.

Joshua won gold at the 2012 London Olympics and turned professional the year after, but did so under coach Tony Sims.

Sims guided AJ to the IBF world title by 2016, but after always having McCracken as an advisor Joshua switched camps from Essex to Team GB’s Sheffield base after one fight as champion.

Joshua has gone on to add the WBA and WBO belts but had to win all three titles back from Andy Ruiz Jr last December after suffering his first loss six months earlier.

After Fury dominated Deontay Wilder last month in their rematch, he won the WBC strap setting up an undisputed title decider against AJ.

But Wilder has invoked his trilogy clause while Joshua has to face IBF mandatory Kubrat Pulev at Tottenham’s stadium on June 20.

Experienced trainer McCracken is adamant the nation’s two biggest stars will meet in the ring to decide the division’s No1.

He told Sky Sports: "It has to happen. It will be fantastic when they box each other – and they will do, down the line.

"The best fighting the best is what the world wants to see and, certainly, they are the two best heavyweights in the world right now.

"Without a doubt, it is fascinating, it is brilliant. We have two heavyweight champions ruling the world – when could you ever say that, in my lifetime? You never could.

"Big Josh and Tyson have done fantastically well. They are tremendous fighters.”
