Arsenal boosted in pursuit of Malcom transfer by La Liga rule that limit number of players at Barcelona – The Sun
ARSENAL have been given a boost in their quest to snare Barcelona winger Malcom away from the Nou Camp thanks to La Liga restrictions.
It is understood that the Gunners are battling Everton to land the 22-year-old, who could be on his way out of Spain just a year after joining the Blaugrana.
The North London side were chasing the winger during his spell at Bordeaux, before he opted to make the move to Catalonia.
But the Brazilian is back on the radar of Arsenal as Unai Emery looks to bring a winger to the Emirates this summer.
Clubs vying for Malcom's signature have been boosted by the La Liga rule that limits teams from registering more than three non-EU players in their squad.
Barca's current quota is filled by Arturo Vidal, Malcom and his compatriot Arthur.
But the ex-Corinthians ace's place in the side is in jeopardy with rumours that Barcelona are looking to re-sign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain.
It has been claimed that Les Parisiens could allow the former Santos star to leave for just £135million – £63m less than what they paid for him two years ago.
PSG sporting director Leonardo has already given Neymar the green light to leave with the player believed to be keen on departing.
He told Le Parisien: "Neymar can leave PSG if there is an offer that suits everyone."
Should the two-time Ligue 1 winner return to Barcelona, Malcom will likely be offloaded to make room for Brazilian international Neymar in their squad.
Arsenal could turn to Malcom should they give up on signing Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha.
