Atalanta charged for fans' racist abuse of Borussia Dortmund ace Michy Batshuayi
ATALANTA face a Uefa racism probe after their fans allegedly aimed monkey chants at Michy Batshuayi.
Borussia Dortmund striker Batshuayi, on loan from Chelsea, claims he was racially abused in Italy during the second leg of the last-32 tie.
European football's governing body confirmed on Monday afternoon that Atalanta faced charges of "racist behaviour (monkey chants)", the setting-off of fireworks, throwing objects and blocked stairways.
Dortmund were also charged with the setting off of fireworks and throwing objects.
Upon hearing that the Serie A club's fans were being investigated, Batshuayi tweeted: "A couple idiots should never make us forget why we love football. Let's clean our stadiums and play the beautiful game."
Batshuayi, 24, last week took to Twitter to condemn the Italian fans' actions at Reggio Emilia's Mapei Stadium.
