Bellator sign two-time Cage Warrios champion Soren Bak, who is not yet willing to pack up his career as pension scheme advisor – The Sun
BELLATOR have signed two-time Cage Warriors champion Soren Bak.
SunSport can reveal “The True Viking” has penned a deal with the US MMA promotion after reigning as lightweight and interim featherweight Cage Warriors champion.
The 27-year-old is 13-1 and beat Liverpudlian star Paddy Pimblett last year, before a march victory over Morgan Charriere.
And now the Dane has signed for Bellator, the latest development in his rising cage career.
He said: “Signing with Bellator was really a great feeling and it’s a step up to the big leagues.
“I was out walking with my wife at the time when we got the call from my agent and it drastically changes what we have been talking about.
“It’s a big step up financially and the time and effort I have to put into the sport.”
Despite penning a deal with Scott Coker’s MMA roster, Bak will remain part-time in the sport, refusing to give up his "ordinary" job as a pension scheme advisor.

Putting nothing down to chance, the European contender is aware of the “risk” involved in being a full-time fighter.
Meaning he will continue his 8am-4pm job before cutting his hours to allow him to train.
He added: “Actually moving into MMA as a full-time professional is not what I want to right now, just because of the risk in MMA.
“It’s good to have an ordinary working job and my current employers are very flexible depending on whether I have a fight or not.
“My normal working day will be eight hours or so, but when I go to my boss and say I want to go part-time I change my work hours.
“If I had a fight I would be training from 9am-10.30am, then go back to work, have lunch and after a few hours in the evening around 5.00pm I’ll be back in training.”
Bak faces leaving Cage Warriors as one of the stars of the promotion, to working beginning life as the new boy in the Bellator lightweight division.
But the 27-year-old vows to take on all comers to achieve his former feat of two-weight champion, though he refuses to look too far ahead of himself before his Bellator debut, wich has not yet been confirmed.
He said: “I fully expect to move up the ladder as is the case any time you move into an organisation like Bellator, or Cage Warriors.
“Even though I have a good record and good run coming in I know I have to prove myself in front of new opposition.
“I fully expect I am capable of reaching what I did at Cage Warriors.
“But I still have to fight three or four guys before looking at the championship.
“During my whole MMA career I’ve taken it one step at a time, because you can never plan too far ahead in this sport as a lot of it is down to risk.
“You plan for multiple scenarios and I’m going to go in and prove myself in the divisions and take any chance I can.”
