Bournemouth offer Callum Wilson five-year contract worth £26m to fight off Chelsea and West Ham – The Sun
BOURNEMOUTH are offering England striker Callum Wilson a new five-year deal to keep him at the Vitality.
Wilson is wanted by West Ham among others but the Cherries are putting off any sake by giving him a rise and an extended stay.
The new contract would see Wilson, 27, earn around £26million between now and 2024, tying him down for the peak seasons of his career.
It is a huge gesture and a repeat of the way Bournemouth headed off interest in Wilson a year ago when he committed to a long term deal.
Since then the striker has had another impressive season and made the full England side, justifying the Cherries handing him a new deal.
West Ham have been monitoring Wilson's situation and are ready to offer £35m.
Manuel Pellegrini is looking to add more firepower to his side following the departure of Marko Arnautovic.
However, the Hammers are still hoping to seal a deal for Celta Vigo star Maxi Gomez after reportedly matching his £44.85m release clause.
Meanwhile, Everton have joined Chelsea in the race for Wilson – although might need to sell Idrissa Gueye first to finance another spending spree.
Wilson scored 15 goals and picked up 10 assists in 33 games for Eddie Howe's men last season.
