Brawling Russian darts player was hailed for ‘s***house’ antics at Ally Pally
Former World Championship qualifier Boris Koltsov has sensationally been caught fighting with an opponent after a darts match in his native Russia.
Footage has emerged on social media of Koltsov appearing to aim a flurry of punches at a fellow player. Koltsov won the match in question but that didn’t stop him laying into the opponent, with multiple shots thrown.
Koltsov was eventually retrained by teammates and officials but the 34-year-old is likely to be in hot water for his conduct at the Russian Team Championship. The brawl reportedly occurred after the opponent, a member of the Novgorod team, refused to shake Koltsov’s hand and insulted his team after the match.

Koltsov, nicknamed ‘The Viking’, qualified for the last PDC World Championship and certainly made his mark at the Alexandra Palace, where he defeated Jermaine Wattimena 3-0 in the first round. He bowed out at the second round stage after losing 3-2 to Dirk van Duijvenbode.
His win over Wattimena saw him branded the “new favourite s***house in darts” by fans following the Russian’s antics on the oche. Koltsov’s slow play seemed to upset Wattimena, who refused to shake hands after the match. That didn’t seem to bother Koltsov, who celebrated wildly on stage.
While his behaviour wasn’t to everyone’s taste, it was applauded by many darts fans at the time, with one tweeting: “Boris Koltsov is my new favourite s***house in darts, what a bloke."

Another posted: “Boris Koltsov… What. A. Man.” A third added: “Now Koltsov, he’s some entertainment.”
Koltsov is one of Russia’s top players and would have been a contender to qualify for the next World Championship had the country not been banned from competing in international sporting events following the invasion of Ukraine.
The PDC usually holds a EuroAsian qualifier for the tournament. As that region is dominated by Russian players, it was scrapped and replaced with a Ukrainian qualifier in October. That was won by Vladyslav Omelchenko.
