Chelsea fans say 'hopefully the banner era is over' as they notice awkward Mason Mount tribute at Stamford Bridge | The Sun
ANGRY Chelsea fans have suggested their 'banner era' should be over with Mason Mount departing the club.
After Mount, 24, agreed personal terms with Manchester United some fans have said that they should no longer make tifos of current players.
The tifo in question read: "Mason Mount – The Boy Who Had A Dream" alongside a picture of Mount with the Champions League.
An angry fan said on Twitter "The boy who had a dream… To sign for Manchester United.
"On your bike, Mase 👋"
Chelsea fans were quick to embrace Mount to their hearts as he was a product of Chelsea's Cobham academy.

He joined the club as a six-year-old and broke into Chelsea's first team in 2019 aged just 20.

A fan on Twitter said: "Hopefully the banner era is over now.
"Silva has one, Azpilicueta has one, James has one.

Mason Mount has a year left on his current Chelsea contract and feels he has been undervalued by the club.
His current deal is worth £100,000-a-week which makes him one of Chelsea's lowest earners.
United have reportedly offered him £200k-a-week and the West London club are understood to respect Mount's desire to leave.
There remains work to be done on a fee – with Chelsea rejecting a £50million bid from United this week.
