Chelsea must do more to adapt to Lukaku and Tuchel has to 'take a step towards striker', says ex-Belgium forward Jbari
CHELSEA boss Thomas Tuchel has been urged to 'take a step towards' Romelu Lukaku as the striker continues to struggle with his form.
Lukaku mustered just SEVEN touches in Chelsea's narrow 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.
And Tuchel was forced to defend his summer signing begging fans to not make jokes at Lukaku's expense.
Despite Tuchel's defence of Lukaku, the German has been urged by former Belgium striker Nordin Jbari to 'take a step towards' the striker to get the best out of him.
The RTBF pundit said: "I’m sorry, but when you go and get Lukaku, a world class star, you need to adapt a bit to him. I’m under the impression that we’re only asking Lukaku to adapt to Chelsea.
"I’m not saying he doesn’t have to. That’s what makes a great player, but it’s not always easy. I feel that he’s not being put forward enough and not trusted enough.”
Jbari still believes Lukaku is the 'missing link' in Chelsea's team.
He continued: "Chelsea and Tuchel need to understand they signed a world class star who’s a goalscoring machine.

"If it doesn’t work, maybe it’s because the environment isn’t the best for it to work. Short term, it’s Tuchel who needs to take a step towards Lukaku.
“He was the missing link at Chelsea. They lacked this type of striker, this finisher.
"They now have him and they paid a lot to have him. Tuchel must therefore do everything so that it works.”
Chelsea will need Lukaku on top form on Tuesday when French champions Lille travel to Stamford Bridge in the first round of their Champions League clash.
The two sides are battling it out for a place in the quarter-finals of the competition, and Tuchel will want his side to go all the way and retain their European title.
