Daley Blind set to play first Ajax game since ex-Man Utd ace was diagnosed with heart condition two months ago – The Sun

DALEY BLIND will make his return to Ajax first-team training on Sunday after recovering from a heart problem.

The former Manchester United defender suffered from dizziness during the Champions League clash with Valencia on December 10 and was diagnosed with "heart muscle inflammation" shortly after.

After a multitude of tests, the 29-year-old has been given the all-clear to return to first-team action with the Dutch champions.

And the club have taken action to prevent the possibility of Blind suffering again.

Doctors fitted him with a device to help him called a subcutaneous implantable cardioverter defibrillator.

This is designed to regulate any abnormal heart rhythms, preventing a potential cardiac arrest.

Blind is now in contention to return against Utrecht on Sunday in the Eredivisie.

And as well as the obvious personal relief the club will have over their player's health and wellbeing – they'll be delighted to have him back in the fold.

The games will come thick and fast for last season's Champions League semi-finalists, as they fight on three fronts.

On Wednesday they travel to Vitesse for the KNVB Cup quarter-finals, and later this month they take on Getafe as the Europa League Round of 32 kicks off.
