Damning stats reveal Thiabut Courtois’ shocking run at Real Madrid with more goals conceded than SAVES this season – The Sun
THE JURY in the Court(ois) of Thibaut has condemned the ex-Chelsea keeper to a season of abuse given the crimes against goalkeeping he has committed in recent weeks.
The Belgian stopper has had a torrid time of things at the Bernabeu and recently revealed stats make for painful reading.
His national manager Roberto Martinez recently claimed Courtois, 27, lost a whopping 4lbs as a result of stomach problems he had.
And Los Blancos were recently forced to deny the stopper was hauled off at half-time of Real's Champions League game against Brugge because of an anxiety attack.
But Courtois is the second highest paid goalkeeper in the world and whatever the root cause, he is certainly not earning his money at the moment.
Damning stats reveal Courtois has conceded more goals than he has made saves this season.
The Belgian has made nine appearances in all competitions, conceded 12 goals and only made 11 saves in that time.
Earlier in the season, horror stats showed Courtois' goals conceded per game stats at Real Madrid are the worst of his career.
And Chelsea fans who dubbed him The Snakey One were quick to jump on his back after a shocking error in Real's 3-0 Champions League defeat at Paris Saint-Germain.
One user even tweeted: "The last time Courtois kept a clean sheet Mia Khalifa was virgin."
Zach Lowy was also quick to tweet and said: "If I told you in 2015 that paying £35 million for Thibaut Courtois would be a waste of money, you’d have thought I was crazy, but here we are…"
Nina_LFC added: "Just looks a shadow of his former self."
Talha Ahmed replied to a Courtois tweet and said: "You are the worst signing in the history of our Los Blancos."
And comparing Courtois to Real legend Cristiano Ronaldo in comical fashion, Idris posted: "Thibaut Courtois at Real Madrid: 60 games, 84 goals, finally got a replacement for Ronaldo."
