Derek Chisora reckons his brain and David Price’s body would have produced ‘untouchable’ world champ – The Sun

DEREK CHISORA says his fearless brain in David Price’s giant body would have produced an ‘untouchable’ British world champion.

Liverpool’s 6ft 8in powerhouse Price, 36, has failed to fulfil his potential — a lack of killer instinct leaving him with a 25-6 record and NO world titles.

In contrast Chisora, 35, is a fans’ favourite — nicknamed War thanks to his warrior will and gung-ho style, despite an unflattering 31-9 record,

The pair clash at The O2 on Saturday with the Londoner confident of shattering Price’s chin and confidence.

And 6ft 2in Chisora can only dream of what he could have done with his rival’s physique.

He said: “Yeah, he has had psychological issues but knowing my luck he could have had them for the last five f****** years and on October 26 he might finally produce that massive f****** right hand and leave me lying there thinking ‘you b******!’

“The guy is a good fighter but he has demons in his head sometimes.

'WHO THE F*** IS THIS GUY?'

Thankfully I have worse demons in my head, they’re crazy, you can hit me with a sledgehammer and I will still be coming.

“If you could have had a fighter with David Price’s body and my mind, you would have had the Great White Hope the United Kingdom has been waiting for for years.

“With my will in his body, we would have had this giant Scouser knocking everybody out. Jesus Christ, that guy would have been untouchable!”

hisora has had his eyes on the Price for almost 15 years, when he was the No1 amateur in the country and destined for gold at the 2006 Commonwealth games.

And the sparring rounds they shared around 2012 should have been made an all-ticket event for fight fans to flock to.

Instead they clash in the twilight of their careers, with one man on track for a world title shot and the other on another rebuilding job in 2020.

Chisora said: “David Price is a big guy but he has not used his advantages, I have known him since the amateurs in the early 2000s and I would always see him in the Boxing News magazine.

“Everyone wanted to be in that book in them days and I would always see David Price in there on the back-page listings at No1 and I would think ‘who the f*** is this guy?’

“Back in those amateur days I would look at that photo and think ‘I want to knock him off that top spot’. But we never got to fight.”

Price resurrected his own career last time out in July, stopping social media sensation Dave Allen with a dominant performance.

Chisora went backstage to congratulate him on the overdue high-profile win but that will be forgotten this weekend.

He said: “That was the best performance of his career, because the way he boxed was amazing, he used his long jab didn’t he.

“I only really went backstage to see him after that fight because our dressing rooms were next to each other.

“But, come fight week, everything goes out the window. Best friend or not best friend, I’m coming to destroy you.

"After that we can shake hands and love each other, fight week it’s war.”
