Erik ten Hag reveals Marcus Rashford 'not happy' after Man Utd star's season hit devastating new low in midweek | The Sun

ERIK TEN HAG is convinced Marcus Rashford will come good again despite his difficult season hitting a new low in midweek.

The Manchester United star was given a red card for a high tackle towards the end of the first half in Copenhagen in midweek.

Ten Hag’s men, who were leading 2-0 at the time, went on to capitulate and lose the Champions League clash 4-3 to leave their hopes of reaching the knockouts in tatters.

Rashford produced a career best 32 goals in all competitions last term to finish at the club’s top scorer.

But the 26-year-old has just one this season and his form has been a major concern for the Red Devils.

Asked how he feels about Rashford’s campaign so far, Ten Hag said: “I think he is not happy.

“We are not happy. He has high expectations for himself and in this moment he is not in his best form.

“I know he will be back and when the team is playing better, he will play better and score goals. I am confident in that.”

Ten Hag believes it can all change in an instant for Rashford as he prepares to face struggling Luton at Old Trafford on Saturday.

He said: “It can happen very quickly.

“He will improve and score goals this season.

“He is totally aware of everything, so he will be back on track.”

Rashford also received a vote of confidence from England boss Gareth Southgate this week.

Despite his lack of form for his club, the United man was included in the Three Lions squad for their upcoming clashes with Malta and North Macedonia.

He scored on his last international appearance, a 3-1 win over Italy last month that secured a spot at Euro 2024, to take his tally to 17 in 57 caps.
