Football Whispers looks at the rise and rise of AS Monaco as they go from Ligue 2 also-rans to Champions League semi-finalists in five years

FIVE years ago, Italian manager Marco Simone guided Monaco to a 2-1 win over Boulogne on the final day of the Ligue 2 season.

Although they finished with the three points, it was only enough to see them finish eighth in the second tier.
