Friday preview: Racecard, analysis and tips for the 3.05 Listed Handicap at Wetherby

THE Charlie Hall meeting gets underway at Wetherby on Friday and the highlight is a competitive Listed Handicap Chase.

Eight are set to go to post and it looks a cracking betting heat if they all line up.

This is wildly competitive, you'd be brave to rule out any of these with confidence.

However, only two have had a recent run. Demi Sang has been running most of the summer and Cracking Find recently returned at Wetherby.

Ben Haslam's Demi Sang has done most of his winning at smaller tracks and could be held off 143 in this company.

While Cracking Find tends to come good later in the season and Sue Smith has her string further behind than most.

3.05 Wetherby – Born Survivor (Bet now)

Last year's runner-up Guitar Pete will be popular with punters once again. But he's been off for eleven months now and hasn't had the chance to have a spin beforehand this time around.

Happy Diva will also be towards the top of the betting. She returns to open company here and may be up against it off 142 with it being her first outing of the season.

Another making his first start of the campaign is BORN SURVIVOR for the Skeltons. While fitness may be a concern for some, you'd think Dan will be sending him here A1 given he won well in this last season and he had the option to run in the Old Roan at Aintree.

He's plenty higher in the weights this time around, but has shown no signs of that progress stalling.

He's only raced twice since this race last season. One of those he won a similar heat up at Ayr, the other he was well beat by Aso at Cheltenham but didn't see out his race properly there.

More importantly the conditions look to have come back in his favour with the drying ground key to his chances.

If all eight go to post and he remains around the 5-1 mark, you could have plenty worse each-way bets.

The danger looks to be the unexposed Catamaran Du Seuil who threatened to be a handicapper to follow for much of last season.

Trained by the shrewd Dr Richard Newland, he shot onto the scene with a cosy win over C&D last November.

He struggled after that, but fresh may be the time to get him and he's now only 5lbs higher than that romp here. A bit of market support and he could be a real threat if fit to go.
