Hannover 96 fans sneak into rivals’ stadium and BURN their badge into turf ahead of their match | The Sun
HANNOVER 96 fans vandalised arch rivals Eintracht Braunschweig's Eintracht-Stadion.
Hannover supporters broke into Eintracht's ground on Friday night, just a few hours before their rivals' 2 Bundesliga clash against Heidenheim.
The intruders then burned a large 96 badge in the centre circle, something that would be impossible to erase before Saturday's league match.
However, Eintracht found a creative solution to expertly hit back at their foes.
The hosts painted two large white crosses over each number, which were far more visible than the vandals' burns.
The German club also painted "No Thanks" four times around the circle.

The break-in also didn't affect Michael Schiele's men, who picked up a 2-0 win.
Manuel Wintzheimer opened the scoring late after 72 minutes.
And Lion Lauberbach sealed the win in the 90th minute for the hosts.
The game also started on time without a second's delay in Braunschweig.
