Josh King shrugs off West Ham transfer misery and 'itching' to show what a player he is at Bournemouth, says Tindall

JOSH KING has shrugged off his transfer misery and is 'itching' to show everyone what a great player he is, according to Bournemouth boss Jason Tindall.

Striker King described the summer as 'the worst two months' of his life after missing out on a transfer away from the relegated Cherries.

West Ham had a £13million bid rejected for the Norwegian and ended up signing Brentford’s Said Benrahma instead.

Yet Tindall is convinced the 28-year-old has got over his disappointment and is ready to help Bournemouth continue their unbeaten start to life in the Championship.

He said: “Once the window shuts, you can either be disappointed and sulk or you can come back with fire in your belly to prove to everyone what a good footballer you are.

“That’s certainly where Josh King is. We had a good chat on Monday.

"He knows he’s here and he’s itching to show everybody what a great player he is and to score goals in the Championship.”

King’s contract expires in the summer, so he could be set for more toing and froing when the window opens again in January.

But for now he will be looking to get back into Tindall’s starting line-up, having made just one sub appearance so far this season.

The Bournemouth boss was speaking ahead of tomorrow's trip to Cardiff.

He added: “Josh trained with the squad on Monday.

“He trained well. We’ll assess whether he’ll be involved.”
