Luke Shaw trolls Lukaku as Man Utd ace reignites aggro with former team-mate and welcomes him back to Europa League – The Sun
LUKE SHAW fired shots at former Manchester United colleague Romelu Lukaku after his Inter Milan side were dumped out of the Champions League.
Tuesday night's agonising defeat to Barcelona saw the Serie A leaders fall into the Europa League, where Shaw and the Red Devils also feature this season.
After the game, the defender pulled up an old tweet of Lukaku's, a picture of him laughing with the caption "UCL".
The left-back tweeted a wink emoji with the phrase: "Welcome back."
It was far from the first instance of animosity between the pair although it is hard to tell if there is genuine hostility between them.
Belgian forward Lukaku angered his former club when posting confidential sprint stats online during the summer, in a bid to prove his fitness to critics.
His post inadvertently, or otherwise, showed Shaw as the biggest slouch in the Red Devils squad.
The 24-year-old tersely replied at the time: "They only wanted me to go 70% don’t let me start speaking on you boy."
And fans certainly had his back after Tuesday night's tweet.
Twitter user AJ replied: "I’m not shaw this was necessary, but from the luke of things, this was elite."
Danny added: "FLIP ME LUKE."
While another fan commented: "Biggest football banter W this month."
Lukaku had scored in Inter's encounter with Barcelona last night but goals from Carles Perez and Ansu Fati stole the points while Borussia Dortmund's win in the other Group F game sealed their fate.
