Man City will hold last-ditch contract talks with Bayern Munich target Leroy Sane this week
MANCHESTER CITY will hold last-ditch contract talks with Leroy Sane in a bid to see off Bayern Munich.
The German international winger, 23, has refused to commit to a new deal at the Etihad and now has just two years left on his contract.
That has alerted Bayern, who are looking for wingers to replace Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery this summer.
And the champions now have a problem as his value will start to fall if he does not re-sign.
City sources say they want to keep Sane and plan further discussions in the next few days.
But several months of talks have yet to reach a satisfactory conclusion, with Sane concerned he has slipped behind Bernardo Silva in the pecking order.
And if they cannot reach an agreement Man City may decide to sell, if Bayern or any other club can get close to £88million.
City insist there has been no official bid yet, despite talk coming out of Sane’s homeland.
Since joining City in 2016 for £37m, he has made 89 league appearances, scoring 25 goals and notching 28 assists.
Should he leave, City could swoop for Benfica’s highly-rated Joao Felix, 19, who has a £106m release clause.
