Man Utd face 8pm kick-off at Arsenal on New Year’s Day as December and January TV fixtures announced – The Sun
MANCHESTER UNITED fans face a nightmare New Year's Day trek home after their clash with Arsenal was shifted to an 8pm kick-off.
United's travelling supporters already knew they would have to spend the Bank Holiday on the road getting too and from London.
But BT Sport's decision to screen the clash at Arsenal in the prime-time evening slot means a shocking trek back up to the North West from London into the early hours of the morning.
For the first time, the subscription channel will screen all nine January 1 matches live across BT Sport, with kick-offs spread over four times slots from 12.30pm-8pm.
Chelsea's visit to Brighton and the Burnley vs Aston Villa matches will be staged in the lunchtime slot.
There are three 3pm kick-offs on New Year's Day – Southampton playing host to Tottenham, Leicester's visit to Newcastle and the Watford clash at home to Wolves.
Three games will kick-off at 5.30pm. Manchester City play host to Everton, West Ham entertain Bournemouth and Crystal Palace travel to Norwich.
The revelation came as Sky Sports, BT Sport and Amazon Prime finally confirmed their TV selections for December and January.
Viewers will be treated to a bumper choice of action, with streaming giants Amazon entering the market for the first time.
