Man Utd injury blow as Solskjaer reveals Pogba won’t be fit for crucial Norwich clash on Sunday – The Sun
PAUL POGBA has been ruled out of Manchester United's clash with Norwich on Sunday.
Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed the Frenchman will not recover from his ankle injury in time to face the Canaries.
Pogba, 26, has missed six of United's last eight games with injury and did not travel with the rest of the squad for their Europa League contest with Partizan Belgrade.
United have struggled in his absence winning just twice against Leicester and Astana.
But there is good news to come out of Old Trafford with David De Gea fit for their next league meeting.
Solskjaer said: "David will be ready for Sunday but we didn't take a risk of travelling here with him.
"Paul, no."
Luke Shaw also misses Thursday's clash with a hamstring injury and fellow full-back Diogo Dalot confirmed his own absence on Twitter earlier in the week.
United are yet to win on the road this season – a far cry from the nine consecutive away victories when Solskjaer came in last season.
And even he is struggling to put his finger on why they can't find their mojo.
He added: "It's a question we've asked ourselves as well.
"After I came in we won nine on the bounce and since then we haven't won any.
"It's an issue we have to deal with, to sort out as soon as possible. We've got four games away on the trot and hopefully those statistics will turn.
"I think the Europa League is important for us. It's a tournament that the last time we were in it we won it, but you can't rely on a cup tournament. It might be luck, it might be injuries.
"The Champions League for next season is an aim, if it's top four or Europa League it doesn't matter. It's still not in November and talking about not being in top four, you're a little bit early there."
