Man Utd scouts watch Darwin Nunez score landmark Benfica goal as they join West Ham and Newcastle in transfer race
MANCHESTER UNITED scouts were reportedly in attendance to witness Benfica striker Darwin Nunez score a landmark goal last night.
The 22-year-old found the net in his side’s 3-1 victory over Tondela.
That was his 21st strike of the campaign in just his 26th appearance and has now made him the top goalscorer in the Portuguese top-flight.
And with two assists to his name also, Benfica are banking on Nunez becoming one of their biggest ever sales.
There are no shortage of admirers for the Uruguayan forward either.
A Bola claims that Manchester United scouts joined a host of other talent spotters at the game to watch him in action.
The Red Devils were also allegedly joined by the likes of Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Milan.
And the presence of their scouts were ‘certainly directed’ to Darwin’s appearance.

The report states his performance was ‘certainly worth a lot of notes’ for the scouts in attendance.
Both Premier League West Ham and Newcastle have also been linked with an interest in the star.
And that would only leave him behind Joao Felix, who left to join Atletico Madrid for £113m, and Manchester City’s £64m Ruben Dias as the club’s highest ever transfer exit.
