Manchester City recall Arijanet Muric to solve goalkeeping crisis after Claudio Bravo injury

MANCHESTER CITY have recalled Arijanet Muric to solve their goalkeeping crisis.

The Citizens were left in trouble after Claudio Bravo's potentially season-ending injury left Ederson as the only first-team stopper.

But Dutch club Breda – who signed a five-year cooperation deal with City in 2016 – have agreed to cancel 19-year-old Muric's loan to provide back-up to the Brazilian.

Their technical director Hans Smulders confirmed: "Due to the injury of the second goalkeeper, Manchester City came into a situation that we had not anticipated beforehand.

"Despite looking at other solutions, we eventually had to decide to return Aro to Manchester.

"Having a partnership also means that you try to help each other in these situations.

"We help Manchester City with the return of Aro and of course City Football Group helps us to solve the situation that has arisen in the goal at NAC.

"It is certainly not how we envisaged it, but I am convinced that NAC will ultimately emerge stronger from this situation."

City flogged Joe Hart and Angus Gunn this summer after Ederson captured the No1 jersey with an impressive season.

But they were left short after Bravo suffered an Achilles injury leading to Muric's return.
