Pep Guardiola hints at stunning transfer reunion with Dani Alves at Man City after free agent leaves PSG – The Sun

PEP GUARDIOLA has left the door open for a reunion with his former Barcelona favourite Dani Alves at Manchester City.

The Brazilian right-back is a free agent after leaving Paris Saint Germain and snubbed a move to the Etihad two years ago.

City currently have Kyle Walker and Danilo in his position but there has been a question mark over the latter’s future all summer.

If Danilo was to leave, City sources have hinted Alves could be a short term option for the champions.

Maybe zero, maybe one, maybe one and a half

And Guardiola said: “All the important clubs in the world know his situation and the incredible player he is.

“He’s an extraordinary person too but now we have two incredible full backs.”

Guardiola has signed Rodri and Angelino this summer and would ideally like a centre half to replace Vincent Kompany.

He said there could yet be new arrivals before the transfer window closes in two weeks' time.

City have been linked with Harry Maguire all summer but are not willing to meet Leicester’s £80 million valuation.

Asked who last year's Treble winners might sign before the window slams shut on August 8, Guardiola said: “Not many because I like the faces that we have.

“Maybe we will but the transfer market is so difficult and the team is good enough.

“Maybe zero, maybe one, maybe one and a half.

“With the centre-half, if we can we will, if we can’t we will survive without a new central defender.”
