Police respond to incident at Texas restaurant after UFC fighter allegedly hit man, used racial slurs
The Lubbock (Texas) Police Department is investigating an incident at a restaurant after video showed UFC fighter Mike Perry allegedly punching a man, leaving him apparently unconscious, and shouting racial slurs.
The video showed Perry arguing with other patrons, saying he had been touched. An incident report from Lubbock police obtained by USA TODAY Sports said Perry told an officer later at the scene, Table 82, "these people were putting hands on me as I was trying to leave the building."
According to the report, an argument started between Perry and another individual after the welterweight believed the other person to be saying something about his girlfriend. They began pushing each other's faces when the restaurant manager broke up the skirmish. At that point, Perry pushed the manager.
In the video, other patrons are yelling at Perry as he exits the restaurant. An older male and Perry, 28, began exchanging words, per the report, and the fighter struck the other man in the face. He fell to the ground and bystanders heard his head hit the concrete and said he "appeared to be unconscious."

The man was taken to nearby Covenant Medical Center and initially had little recollection of the incident. He then remembered telling Perry he saw him hit the Table 82 manager and nothing thereafter.
No charges have been filed, and Perry was not arrested.
Perry repeatedly shouted a racial slur in the aftermath of the skirmish. He has used a racial slur in at least two social media posts previously.
UFC did not respond to a request for comment, nor did Table 82. Management for Perry did not immediately return a message from USA TODAY Sports.
Perry defeated Mickey Gall by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night on June 27. His girlfriend, Latory Gonzalez, was the lone person in his corner that night.
