IT wasn't a vintage night of Champions League action with not many goals to cheer across the continent.

But that was exactly what one savvy Betfair punter predicted – pocketing over £2,000 in the process!

Starting with the in-play selections of Manchester City's stalemate in Copenhagen and Juventus in Haifa, the bettor selected a further five 8pm games to finish with under 2.5 goals – two goals or less – and combined in a bumper acca.

The only game they left out was Dinamo Zagreb vs RB Salzburg which finished 1-1.

It's a risky play, knowing a surge of goals could kill your bet instantly.

But on drab nights like last night, it can be very profitable.

Just ask this plucky punter, who for their £10.41 stake, they woke up this morning with £2,168.24.

City were reduced to ten men in the first half but still controlled the game in Denmark without breaking the deadlock.

Riyah Mahrez's first half penalty miss was a sign of things to come across the continent last night.

It didn't come without its frights for the bettor, with Chelsea 2-0 against the ten men of Milan inside 35 minutes and Dortmund vs Sevilla 1-1 after the same time.
