Royal Ascot Tips: King's Stand runners and riders – Your pinstickers' guide to Tuesday's Group 1 sprint at 3.35 3.
GLASS SLIPPERS looks crystal clear in the King’s Stand Stakes (3.35).
Kevin Ryan’s express looked a different horse in the second half of last season with three big wins on the spin. She ended up seeing off a high class field — including Battaash — to take the Prix De L’Abbaye at Longchamp’s Arc meeting. That was no narrow victory — she had three lengths in hand crossing the line.

There was some give in the ground there but she’s gone well on fast too and has much more to offer.
Battaash has all the class you need but has been beaten on all three starts at Ascot, including the past two runnings of this race. If he runs to his best he’ll probably win but that’s a big if for a long odds-on shot.
Liberty Beach is improving with an impressive comeback success at Haydock nine days ago. She’s only three so gets a handy weight allowance which should help her hit the places. Kurious looks the pick of the outsiders despite coming back from a year off.
BATTAASH 4
BATT out of hell. Classiest sprinter in the race at his best with a pair of Group 1s on his CV but has been beaten in past two runnings of this and has plenty of quirks. Should win on ratings but is a very short price.
EQUILATERAL 2
LAT not all that. Listed winner at best but ran well when second in hot Dubai race last time when showing lots of pace. Has been beaten at past two Royal Ascots and doesn’t always finish off his races strongly. Bit to find.
HIT THE BID 1
TAKE a Hit. Didn’t win last season despite sticking to much easier races than this. Well beaten in Dundalk Group 3 in October and doesn’t look up to this level.
ROCKET ACTION 1
NEEDS a Rocket. Solid handicapper who was in winning form at Wolverhampton last time and relishes this trip. This is a very different ball game though and he should be outclassed at Group 1 level.
SERGEI PROKOFIEV 2
SORRY Sergei. Looked a good prospect as a two-year-old when third in the Coventry Stakes here but has been hit and miss since. Came back with poor effort in a Naas Group 3 earlier this month making him hard to fancy despite coming from Ballydoyle.
TIS MARVELLOUS 2
IN a Tis. Has been placed in the past two Wokinghams and dropped to this trip when winning a big handicap here last season so clearly loves the track. Was held in Listed company after that when tacky ground didn’t suit. Will run well but shouldn’t be up to this standard.
WELL DONE FOX 3
WELL can make a splash. Dual Listed winner who went well on comeback at Newmarket earlier this month despite trouble in running. This is much tougher but he’s pretty lightly raced and could improve again.

GLASS SLIPPERS 5
SLIPPERS fit. Took giant step forward last season with three good wins on the spin, including when seeing off Battaash in the L’Abbaye at Longchamp. Relishes this trip and seems to handle any ground. Has relatively few miles on the clock so there could be more to come. Big chance.
KURIOUS 3
KUR could sicken bookies. Clocked big personal best when winning a Sandown Group 3 in a fast time on latest run. That was 11 months ago, which is a worry, but he goes well fresh and trainer Henry Candy knows how to handle a good sprinter. Each-way shout.
SHADES OF BLUE 2
FEELING Blue. Did well enough last season with a Listed win over this trip but came up short at the highest level in the L’Abbaye. Solid comeback at Newmarket earlier this month when meeting traffic problems. Will be fitter for that but needs more.
LIBERTY BEACH 4
BEACH party. Consistent performer over this trip who landed the Molecomb at Glorious Goodwood with plenty in hand after finishing fourth in the Queen Mary at this meeting. Won nicely on comeback at Haydock and has every chance of hitting the places.
