Spurs offer wantaway Christian Eriksen ‘double-your-money’ £200k-a-week deal to stay – The Sun
TOTTENHAM have reportedly offered Christian Eriksen a 'double-your-money' £200,000-per-week deal to stay.
The Danish midfielder, 27, is open to leaving the club this summer after six years.
He revealed he is ready to "try something new" in the days after the Champions League final – but a transfer has not materialised.
And now the Mail believe Spurs are willing to stump up the cash to try and convince him to stay.
Eriksen – who trained alone in Singapore this week – is understood to be on around £80,000 per week at the moment with one year remaining on his contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Earlier in the summer, Spurs offered exactly double that with a £160,000-a-week deal on the table.
But now they have added another £40,000 in their latest appeal.
However, it is thought Eriksen's decision will not be motivated by money.
If he does leave this summer, it is likely to be for a move to Spain.
Both Real Madrid and Barcelona are thought to be considering bids.
But beIN Sports believes Atletico Madrid have been offered Eriksen by the player's agent.
The two clubs did business this week as Kieran Trippier made the switch to the Wanda Metropolitano.
And reports suggest an offer of £63m would be enough to convince Spurs to let their playmaker leave, especially because they know he could leave for free next summer.
