Templegate's racing tips: South African racing at Turffontein – Betting preview for Tuesday

NORDIC QUEEN (12.35) can reign at Turffontein.

She went close in a better race than this at Vaal last time and the winner has already struck again.

That was over a mile but she should prefer this distance and top rider Piere Strydom stays in the saddle.

Her low draw is an advantage and she is one of the more likely improvers in the line-up.

CURVATION (1.10) can go straight to the winning line.

Her last run here almost brought a win and she matched that form with a decent second second latest. She finished off strongly over a furlong shorter so this distance should be right up her street.

ISPHAN (1.45) has a good chance in a wide open sprint. He has a decent record over course and distance with a win and two places. He has a handy low draw and was a good second at Vaal last week.

PROMISE can live up to her name in the 2.55. She has two wins and a place from three attempts over this trip and track.

Top pilot Warren Kennedy gets back on board after she didn’t get the best of rides at Vaal earlier this month.

That could make all the difference as he’s won on her no fewer than five times before.
