Tom Brady Has Hilarious Retirement Message For Eli Manning
New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning announced his retirement on Wednesday, following a 16-year career that saw him win two Super Bowl championships.
Both of those rings saw Manning defeat Tom Brady and the dynastic New England Patriots — in the 2007 and 2011 seasons. Take the former out of the equation, and Brady is 6-1 in Super Bowls for his career.
On Friday, Brady took to Twitter and congratulated Manning on his retirement. TB12 was kind enough to add a hilarious joke at the end of the message.
No player in NFL history has won more Super Bowls than Brady, but if Manning hadn’t come through in the clutch, we’d be talking about an eight-time Super Bowl champion quarterback.
Manning went 3-2 in his career against the Patriots, and both losses were decided by a combined margin of just four points.
He wasn’t the most dominant quarterback at his position, but for whatever reason, Manning just always found a way to give Brady and Bill Belichick headaches. And those two Super Bowl rings and MVPs will likely be enough to get No. 10 inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The Giants and Patriots first clashed on the big stage in Super Bowl XLII, where Brady and co. were looking to complete the perfect 19-0 season. But Manning tossed the iconic Helmet Catch throw to David Tyree, and it set up Plaxico Burress’ game-winning touchdown in the final minute of regulation.
Four years later, the two clubs would meet again in Super Bowl XLVI. Once again, Manning crafted a game-winning drive in the final minute, with Ahmad Bradshaw rushing for the go-ahead touchdown. The New York defense held on for a 21-17 victory, clinching their second Super Bowl in five seasons.
Brady faces an uncertain future in New England, but the good news is that wherever he plays in 2020, he won’t have to worry about facing his kryptonite ever again.
