Tyson Fury piles on the pounds in bid to KO Deontay Wilder after picking up gruesome injuries vs Wallin at just 18st – The Sun

TYSON FURY has piled on the pounds in his bid to knock Deontay Wilder spark out.

The undefeated 6ft 9in Gypsy King was just over 18st for his last win over Otto Wallin in September, in which he suffered two gruesome cuts around his eye that needed 47 stitches.

And his father John was fuming with his trainer Ben Davison for allegedly over-training his son and the young cornerman has since been replaced.

The Brit and American WBC champ faced off at a press conference on Monday and Fury wore a tailor made suit with images of himself all over the jacket and trousers that looked a little strained around the waist.

Fury's close friend and former training partner Billy Joe Saunders confirmed his mate is packing some timber in his effort to better the controversial draw he was handed in December 2018.

The WBO super-middleweight champ said: “Tyson needs to be on his game and he needs to be fit, as long as he is fit he boxes his head off.

“He just needs to jab and move, one-twos and move for the first three or four rounds and then break him down.

"He is looking heavier for this fight so I think he will plant his feet when Wilder gets tired.

“As long as Tyson is fit, sharp and in shape, Wilder does not have a hope in hell, there is only one winner for me.”

Fury’s points win over Wallin was the lightest he had weighed since 2015 and his dad was fuming with the decision to shrink his son down.

Davison bore the brunt of the criticism and has since been replaced by American Javan ‘Sugar’ Hill and Fury’s cousin and ex-middleweight world champ Andy Lee.

Big John will be hoping his boy forgets the six-pack and scoffs on around a stone to be at his best for the February 22 rerun in Las Vegas.

Back in September he raged: “He looked weight-drained, he looked like he’d left it all in the gym to be honest with you.

“He’s emphasised more on losing weight than his power and strength. He’s got down to 18st 2lbs and his strength and powers gone with it.

“I’ve warned him and warned him about this, he’s not an 18st fighter anymore.

"He’s 31-years-old, he’s matured, his body’s grown, accept that you’re 19st.

“You’re never gonna be body beautiful. That’s what he’s emphasised on, looking good, rather than the actual fight itself.”
