'What a stupid logo' – Ben Askren savages Jorge Masvidal after UFC star proudly shows off new tattoo of his flying knee

BEN ASKREN has savaged Jorge Masvidal’s new tattoo, branding the flying knee logo ‘stupid’.

Masvidal, 37, takes to the octagon tonight in a crunch battle against Colby Covington at UFC 272.

The fight is being billed as the biggest grudge match since Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov.

And Dana White was forced to intervene when Masvidal and Covington squared up during a heated weigh-in yesterday.

But Masvidal caught the eye when he undressed to make weight, revealing a new tattoo on his shoulder of a flying kick.

‘Gambred’ became a household UFC name when he defeated Askren with the iconic move in their 2019 bout, securing the fastest knockout in history after jus five seconds.

But Askren wasn’t impressed when he stumbled across the ink on social media.

Reacting to a picture of Masvidal’s flying kick tattoo, Askren barked: “What a stupid logo.”

Masvidal certainly enjoyed his incredible effort, saying afterwards: “That dude was talking wild, man, I have to show you there’s consequences sometimes, there’s some bad s*** out there. Back to business.

“I've got nothing to say about Ben. My mother told me if you've got nothing nice to say about someone don't say anything."

Masvidal also compared his latest fight against Covington to his feud with Askren.

Masvidal said at last night’s weigh-in: "I can't respect him in any way, shape or form. Kind of like Ben Askren. I don't care for Ben Askren.

"If Ben Askren were in a place and he said something to me then s**t, we can even fight or not. If he's cool, I'll be cool or we can fight.

"But with Colby, it always – for as long as we live – be a problem. Just because he talked about my religion and he mentioned my kids.”
