Who is Jerome Boateng's former girlfriend Kasia Lenhardt, how long did couple date and do they have any children?

JEROME BOATENG is well known to Premier League fans for his stint with Man City before joining German champions Bayern Munich.

But the football world has been shocked by the death of his former girlfriend Kasia Lenhardt at the age of 25.

Who is Kasia Lenhardt?

Born in Poland in 1995, Kasia began modelling from the age of 7.

She rose to fame on the German version of the TV show Next Top Model in 2012, where she finished fourth in the competition.

In the years that followed, she also appeared in Hell's Kitchen and Models in Babyglück.

News of Kasia's death was confirmed by Sara Kulka – a fellow model – who uploaded a photo of the pair on Instagram.

She wrote: "Rest in peace. You wonderful person, I miss you and would have loved to say goodbye.

"I hope you find your peace now and I hope the truth comes out now, I know how much you wished it would.

"I will never forget you, I don't know anyone who could laugh like you. I send a lot of strength to the family."

Local police confirmed there was no foul play suspected in her death.

How long did Kasia and Boateng date?

The pair were together for around 15 months but confirmed their split on February 2.

Boateng took to social media, writing: "As is known from the media, I ended the relationship with Kasia Lenhardt.

"We will go our separate ways from now on. That is regrettable, but for my family and for me it is the only right one.

"I had to take this step and draw a line. I apologise to everyone I've hurt especially with my ex-girlfriend Rebecca and our children.

"I am disappointed in myself too. A man has to take responsibility and act in the interests of his family and I'm doing it now.

"I wish Kasia all the best. Jerome Boateng."

German news outlet Bild exclusively revealed that Kasia had been involved in a car accident in the footballer's Mini on January 5, resulting in the vehicle being a write-off.

Do they have any children?

Kasia and Boateng did not have any children during their time together.

The 25-year-old leaves behind a son, named Noah, from a previous relationship which ended three years ago. 

Boateng has twin girls born in 2011, and a boy born in 2015.
