Wrestlemania 36 will be two-night event with Rob Gronkowski as host
Not only will Wrestlemania 36 go on, but it will now be a two-night event with a host who is one of WWE's newest faces: former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski.
The future NFL Hall of Famer declared his role Wednesday afternoon on Twitter before WWE confirmed the move. Rumblings of Gronkowski, who appeared at Wrestlemania 33 in 2017, joining the organization in an official capacity took off last week.
With his role now defined, the three-time Super Bowl champion will be charged with hosting an event with no live audience due to the coronavirus pandemic. WWE said the event will now take place both Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5 from WWE's training facility in Orlando, Florida, but will also feature "multiple locations."
The event was originally scheduled to be at Raymond James Stadium, where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers — who are expected to sign a certain former Gronk teammate — play.
