'90 Day Fiance': Are Michael and Juliana Still Together?
90 Day Fiance couples always start out with the best of intentions. They all hope to make things work and end up together. Unfortunately, that doesn’t always happen, especially when there is a huge age gap between them.
Looking at the statistics for similar couples on the show, Michael Jessen and Juliana Custodio definitely had the odds stacked up against them going into this season of 90 Day Fiance, but that doesn’t mean that they didn’t make it work.
So, are Jessen and Custodio still together? Beware, there are spoilers ahead.
Michael Jessen and Juliana Custodio’s relationship
Jessen’s passion for travel led him to an extravagant yacht party in Croatia where he met Custodio, who was working as an international model. As soon as they met, they clicked.
“My fiancé’s name is Juliana,” Jessen told People. “She’s from Goiania, Brazil. Juliana and I met on a big yacht party that a friend of mine was throwing in Croatia. There were a lot of celebrities there.”
“I remember when I first saw her. She’s beautiful, amazing body — I don’t necessarily believe in love at first sight, but it’s like we were kindred spirits,” he continued.
Jessen then applied for Custodio to get a tourist visa and visit him in America. The visa was denied but that didn’t stop the two from trying to find a way to be together. Jessen then proposed to Costodo and filed for the K1 visa, which would allow her to come to the U.S. for 90 days.
Now that Custodio is in the U.S., viewers get to watch her and Jessen’s journey as she meets his family and tries to figure out if a relationship with a 20-year age gap can really work.
Relationship backlash
From the moment the two were announced as a couple for the new season, people began hating on them, saying that Custodio was just in the relationship for the green card or that they could never work with such a huge age gap between them. But Jessen hasn’t let the naysayers get to him.
“It’s never bothered me at all because living in it, I understand it,” he told E! News. “And if I could understand from an outsider’s perspective there would be many judgments that people would leap to and that doesn’t bother me one bit. People are welcome to think, feel what they want to. We’re together, we love each other, it’s very much real.”
“We’ve made a very big decision to spend the rest of our lives together. The only person I care about when it comes to how they feel about our relationship is Juliana.”
Are Michael and Juliana still together?
According to a marriage certificate obtained by In Touch, the two did actually tie the knot!
“The wedding took place at Michael’s house in Greenwich on Saturday, October 12th,” a source told the outlet. “It was a fairly big ceremony that was filmed and will air in the coming episodes. His ex-wife, Sarah, officiated the wedding.”
And everyone seemed to be on board with the wedding, including Sarah.
“Despite what’s reported about her not liking Juliana, her and Juliana get along really well in real life,” the source said of Sarah. “Sarah has moved on and is engaged to be married. She’s happy for Michael that he found love again with Juliana.”
