A Place in the Sun viewers rage at house hunters after they issue shock refusal
A PLACE in the Sun fans were left baffled after a guest refused to pay another £2k to bag their dream home.
Channel 4 host Jonnie Irwin was tasked with finding Paul and Michelle their perfect holiday home in Spain’s Costa Calida.
The couple had a maximum budget of £70,000 – but were hoping to secure a property for less.
Jonnie first showed the couple a two-bedroom apartment on a golf complex in Alhama de Murcia.
But it didn't go down well as it was too small and not suitable for a family home.
They wanted the perfect home for their elderly parents and grown-up sons to visit.
The property expert then showed the couple a two-bed bungalow with traditional Spanish décor – but the couple immediately ruled it out.
Jonnie then took the couple to a two-bed ground floor apartment in La Torre Gold Resort.
The pair fell in love with the shared pool and space inside the property.
Michelle cheekily quipped: “You’ve improved!”
“I needed to,” Jonnie replied.
He continued: “This fits all the generations of your family, older with access issues, yourself with proper time outside.
“And your offspring all want something different. It's not easy to find a property that fits all.”
The presenter was thrilled that the couple were pleased with his property choice.
He added: "I’m confident this is a cracking apartment for both of them. They’re smiling. I'm just relieved."
The couple decided to make an offer on the ground floor apartment.
Despite an asking price of just under £75,000, Paul said: “We want to put in a cheeky offer of £65,000.”
Unfortunately, the vendor did not accept the offer and wasn't willing to come down any lower than £69,000.
Meanwhile, Paul and Michelle were not happy to go above £67,000 and sadly missed out on their dream property.
Channel 4 viewers could not believe their eyes as they couple quibbled over £2k.
One wrote: "For the sake of £2,000, Paul and Michelle threw away their chance of their favourite property on #aplaceinthesun. F***ing idiots."
Another posted: "They’re going to say no for 2K? You tight b***ards!!"
A third shared: "Knew they were going to say 65. Cheeky bu**ers."
Another added: "P**s take offer because they want to change things in the kitchen. P**s off!"
A Place in the Sun airs weekdays on Channel 4 at 4pm.
