Adele bursts into laughter as Graham Norton pokes fun at Las Vegas cancellation

Adele fell right into the trap of being mocked by Graham Norton, when he took the perfect opportunity to make fun of her Las Vegas gig cancellations.

In January this year, the singer tearfully announced in a video shared on social media that she’d been forced to postpone her residency in the US city as delays meant that the show wasn’t ready to take place.

She made her first red carpet appearance and delivered her first performance since the announcement at the Brit Awards on Tuesday evening, where she took home three awards, including the accolade for Album of the Year.

On Friday night’s Graham Norton Show, the chat show host was talking to performer George Ezra, when he mentioned that the singer had a live show coming up this summer.

When Graham asked George when it was taking place, the musician revealed that he wasn’t sure of the date, with the presenter announcing it was July 17 before reassuring him: ‘No artist ever knows when anything’s happening.’

‘I always know when something’s happening!’ Adele retorted, as Graham quickly turned back to her and said: ‘You don’t know when Vegas is happening!’

Adele burst into laughter at the host’s hilarious remark, before praising him on how ‘quick’ he was to fire back at her.

‘That was very good,’ she said, before making the gesture of zipping her mouth shut.

Several viewers found the exchange hysterical, sharing their astonished reactions on Twitter.

While Adele played coy when Graham questioned her on the rumours that she and her boyfriend, sports agent Rich Paul, might be engaged, she dropped a hint over her desire to have a baby in the near future.

The Easy On Me singer, who’s mum to nine-year-old Angelo with her ex-husband Simon Konecki, was speaking about her rescheduled Las Vegas residency when she remarked: ‘Imagine if I have to cancel because I am having a baby!’

The Graham Norton Show is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
