Anna set to choose Freddie over a gutted and lovestruck Bobby in EastEnders
Over the past few weeks, it has become quite clear that Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) has developed somewhat of a crush on Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) in EastEnders.
In upcoming scenes, he will put a plan in place to spend some more time with her, by asking her to help him plan a birthday party for Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris). However, things don’t exactly go to plan when she starts to bond with his best friend.
Anna isn’t entirely convinced by Bobby’s idea of a Cider, Cheese and Chess night, so decides to enlist the help of Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier). Not only does she hope he will have some better ideas, but also that the distraction may help to cheer him up a little.
However, Freddie declines the offer insisting that he can’t face it, leading to a heart to heart between him and Anna over their parent troubles.
Freddie recently learnt the real reason behind his father’s absence from his life, after tracking him down. After Freddie revealed that he had had a secret meeting with Graham Foster (Alex McSweeney), Kat, Billy and Alfie (Jessie Wallace, Shane Richie and Perry Fenwick) finally revealed told Freddie that Graham had raped his mum, Little Mo.

Meanwhile, Anna has been on the search for her mum, Rose Knight, who walked out on her nine years ago. However, this decision has caused friction between her and sister Gina (Francesca Henry).
What Anna has yet to discover is the fact that Rose Knight was actually the identity taken on by EastEnders legend Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) during her witness protection.
Following their heart to heart, Freddie decides to bow out of the party planning as part of his plan to play matchmaker between Bobby and Anna. He believes that his presence would get in the way of them bonding and decides to take himself completely out of the equation.
However, it is Bobby himself who ends up messing tings up when he pretends to be someone that he’s not. A polite Anna makes her excuses to leave, claiming that she has to go to work.
When Bernie’s party rolls around, it is a roaring success, though things aren’t quite going to plan for Bobby. He is left gutted when he grows suspicious that Anna may feelings for best friend Freddie.
What he doesn’t know is that Anna has been distracted by an unexpected update from her investigator in the middle of the party.
After talking it through with Freddie, she decides to go ahead and meet up with him, despite having promised Gina that she would drop the whole search.
With Freddie and Anna able to confide in one another, could they been on track to develop feelings as Bobby suspects? And where does that leave him?
