Ben Affleck Batman MOVIE with Jared Leto Joker and Deathstroke ‘wanted by HBO Max’
Back around the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, there were rumours afoot that Ben Affleck was planning on writing and directing a Batman solo movie. In fact, Justice League’s end credits scene with Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke set up the Dark Knight outing that never was. Sadly, the DCEU hadn’t proved a hit at the box office or with the critics in these films and Warner Bros have taken a different route with Matt Reeves’ upcoming Batman movie starring Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne instead.
However, following the recent news that Warner’s streaming service HBO Max is releasing the mythical Justice League Snyder Cut, there may still be hope for Affleck’s Batman after all.
According to The Cultured Nerd’s source, HBO Max want Affleck’s Batman to star opposite Jared Leto’s Joker and Manganiello’s Deathstroke in an original movie or miniseries.
Allegedly, the Justice League star is in talks to direct his original script with Snyder producing.
But how can there be two Batmans at once you might ask?

Well within the last year we’ve seen both Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker movie and the Jared Leto DCEU universe Birds of Prey film released.
So Warner Bros have no problem having different incarnations from different universes existing at the same time.
After all, it’s certainly never been a problem with their animated DC movies and TV shows.
Following the financial difficulties of Batman v Superman and Justice League, continuing Affleck’s Dark Knight’s DCEU arc via streaming may be a safe bet.
As for what his Batman movie or miniseries could feature, previous rumours included Arkham Asylum and more villains aside from The Joker and Deathstroke.
There’s even talk of a Ray Fisher Cyborg series on HBO Max after his movie was cancelled.
While Henry Cavill looks set to sign a brand new contract for his Superman.
According to Deadline, the 37-year-old will cameo or co-star in other movies, in a similar fashion to Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk in Thor Ragnarok.

The outlet clarified: “We hear Cavill could come back in a couple of different ways, not a standalone film, but there are plans to put him back in the big red cape again sources with knowledge tell us.”
Cavill’s Man of Steel could feature in Shazam 2, Black Adam or Aquaman 2.
With the DCEU limping on in Wonder Woman and Aquaman’s solo outings, HBO Max could be providing a means of real resurrection for a franchise that’s had something of a choppy start.
If anything, a format of both cinema and exclusive streaming service may be the right move.
After all, rival superhero franchise the Marvel Cinematic Universe is now splitting between cinema releases and Disney+.
The shared universe will see miniseries feeding into to big-screen spectacles.
For example, the WandaVision show is set to be something of a prologue to upcoming movie Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Maybe the Snyder’s Justice League 2 isn’t done yet after all then?
