Big Brother viewers fume as ‘national treasure’ Alison Hammond is evicted second – but love her fairytale success story – The Sun

BIG Brother viewers were furious tonight as Alison Hammond became the second contestant to be evicted in another classic episode.

Fans couldn't believe the This Morning star got the chop so early in series given she's gone on to be one of the country's best loved TV stars.

Devastated Alison admitted she was gutted to get the boot when Davina McCall announced her name on the show 18 years ago.

Viewers wished they could have let the old version of Alison know just how successful she was going to become.

One wrote on Twitter: "Imagine telling her as she was evicted that 15-20yrs later there would be Hollywood A-listers who knew who she was….Great success story."

Another shared: "Imagine being evicted from Big Brother after 2 weeks and then going on to interview people like Beyoncé and Mariah Carey. Alison Hammond’s POWER. #BBUK."

A third posted: "Aww @AlisonHammond leaving #Bigbrother shouting at TV don’t worry Alison you’ll make it, and the country adore you and your laugh. #Queen @ThisisDavina @Rylan."

As a fourth commented: "Watching @AlisonHammond crying and worried about getting booed leaving the big brother house. If only she knew how much of a huge star she was going to be #BBUK."

Alison is a regular face on ITV's This Morning having interviewed huge A list stars such as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Tom Cruise.

During lockdown she invited viewers into her home where she showed Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield how to make cocktails, bake and other home hacks.

Earlier this year Alison also starred in Celebs Go Dating with fans loving her larger than life personality.

Series three has the most famous alumni in the show's history with Alison, Adele Roberts, Kate Lawler and the late Jade Goody all going on to be big stars.

Jade won the series, beating Kate into second and Alex Sibley into third.

Earlier this year Alison revealed how she even partied with the Kardashians – even if she did blag it.

Telling the hilarious story on Scott Mills’ Radio 1 show, Alison explained that she blagged her way in with her co-star Richard Arnold before cosying up to Kris Jenner.

Explaining the bizarre night, Alison said: “We were outside a party, we couldn’t get in, cause obviously we weren’t on the list, so I just went up to the security with my bossy self and said, Listen I’m not being funny, I’m a bit of a big thing back in the UK’,” she recalled.

“Richard is literally squirming like, ‘Oh my God this is some embarrassing’ and then for some reason about three women from England was going ‘Alison! Alison!’. He then saw these women shouting at me and was like, ‘Alright then, go in’.”

She continued: “Me and Richard got into this party, we were living it up – there was drinks, and then over on the right hand side were the Kardashians. I was like, ‘oh my gosh!’

“They were in like a little pen so you couldn’t even get to them, but I was like I’m Alison Hammond, I’ve got to be able to get to the Kardashians.

“So I literally went up to the pen and there were all these security guys and I went, ‘Guys, guys you really need to let me in.’ I just pulled out the big guns I said, ‘Listen, me and Kris are really good friends’ – I’ve never met her in my life – so then I waved at Kris and she waved back as if she knew me! So he let me into the pen!

“Richard came into the pen, we took pictures, we were laughing, joking and I was one of the Kardashians!”

Alison added: “That was one of my favourite parties because it was such a blag.”
