Black Summer season 2: Netflix announcement confirms new episodes of Zombie thriller
Black Summer’s release back in April sent Z Nation fans into a frenzy with both shows being set in the same universe. Black Summer is set before the outbreak of the apocalypse, four years prior to Z Nation. However, there is plenty more timeframes to explore as Netflix recently announced a second season of Black Summer.
Similarly to the first run, the second outing will consist of eight episodes.
Production is set to begin at some point in the new year, and while the exact date is yet to be confirmed, the streaming site did announce the location.
Production will begin in Alberta, Canada, with a number of original cast members set to return.
Jaime King will be making a comeback as main character Rose.

However, the star will also be serving as a producer in the second season.
Justin Chu Cary will return as Spears, while Christine Lee will be back as Kyungsun.
Showeunner John Hyams will be returning along with executive producer Karl Schaefer, who is the creator of Z Nation.
However, despite the similarities between Z Nation and Black Summer, Rose actor and show producer Jamie has ruled out the idea that the show serves as a prequel.
During an interview with Screen Rant, she previously made it clear Black Summer isn’t connected to the prequel.
”I had never actually seen Z Nation or heard about Z Nation, but I have friends who absolutely love that show, and then people started putting it out there that it was like a prequel of Z Nation, which it’s not,” she stated.
“And really there is no relationship, but the relationship is it came from the people that were involved with Z Nation.”
Meanwhile, Velez Jr has spoken out about his character William’s death last season.

The actor even compared it to Jon Snow’s (Kit Harrington) death before he was resurrected in the HBO series.
Speaking to Express.co.uk the actor said: “I felt like even when I read it (William’s death) I felt like the way I felt when I saw Jon Snow die.
“I almost felt like this can’t be possible, this can’t be happening right now. I knew, in the beginning, he was going to have a tragic death that would come to him, but I told the directors and I told everybody not to let me know until the very end.
“We wrote a lot of stuff as we went along – I didn’t really want to know, even though I knew, I didn’t really want to know the details of it,
