Comedian Lucy Porter joins EastEnders for cameo role as Mitch's love interest

Comedian Lucy Porter has bagged herself a cameo role in EastEnders as Rita – Mitch Baker’s (Roger Griffiths) love interest.

The actress, writer and comedian has performed at multiple comedy festivals and is a regular voice on BBC Radio 4.

Lucy has also appeared in many popular BBC shows including Pointless, Mastermind and Richard Osman’s House of Games.

Lucy’s character, Rita, will bond with Mitch after Bailey (Kara-Leah Fernandes) sets them up on a date.

Bailey has found herself playing cupid for her dad in recent weeks. She’s been desperate for Mitch and Karen (Lorraine Stanley) to get back together but as both have stated they don’t want to ruin what they have as friends, perhaps Bailey will have more luck when she organises this date for her dad?

It’s unknown how many episodes Rita will feature in.

Away from her upcoming role in EastEnders, Lucy also has acting credits in Outnumbered and voicing the role of Kate Middleton in ITV’s Headcases.

For Mitch, focusing on his love life isn’t set to last long as the truth about Gray Atkins’ (Toby-Alexander Smith) will be revealed at the start of March.
