Coronation Street addresses Kylie's death in poignant scenes
Coronation Street has addressed Kylie Platt’s death once more in recent scenes which saw the Platts discuss the much loved character.
Kylie died in 2016 after being stabbed outside the kebab shop by Shona Platt’s (Julia Goulding) son, Clayton.
In tonight’s (July 14) episode, David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) arranged for the family to go and visit Kylie’s grave to mark the anniversary of her death.
After arranging with Roy Cropper (David Neilson) to have the day off,
They explained the plan to Kylie’s son, Max Turner (Paddy Bever), who revealed that he would rather spend the day alone.
In true gran fashion, Gail Platt (Helen Worth) promised to leave some money out for her grandson so that he could buy his own flowers and head to the cemetery in his own time.
When Shona suggested that they head to the cinema or a restaurant afterwards, Gail couldn’t hide her glee, and rushed to get ready, much to David’s disgust.
He asked who had invited her along, to which she pointed out that he’d already said he needed to keep an eye on her.
That was something David couldn’t really argue with, as minutes before he had said those exact words.
With Shona having managed to get the day off from Roy Cropper (David Neilson), Gail commented how lovely she’d always thought he was.
It was then that David said they needed to keep an eye on her, in case she ended up in ‘double figure fellas’ by 2030.
When Gail rolled her eyes, he told her that she couldn’t argue that he wasn’t right, as he had the childhood trauma to prove it.
As the family prepared to leave, David revealed to Max that he still thinks about Kylie every day, breaking our hearts in the process.
