Coronation Street spoilers: Daniel Osbourne in tears on his wedding day after Sinead Tinker finds another lump
IT'S going to be an emotional Coronation Street double-bill tonight as Sinead Tinker and Daniel Osbourne finally tie the knot.
But it’s a bittersweet affair as the bride-to-be makes a terrifying discovery moments before the couple prepare to say "I do".
Corrie fans will know that Sinead has been plotting a secret squirrel wedding to surprise Daniel – telling him to meet her for lunch at the Bistro.
But – after his almost-kiss with Bethany Platt last week – he is keen to avoid the place and announces he’s taking baby Bertie out for the day.
Bethany warns her friend that he needs to be at the Bistro, for Sinead’s sake.
When he eventually arrives Daniel is floored to see Sinead in her wedding dress and they then prepare to make their wedding legal.
Tragedy strikes though when Sinead’s aunt, Beth Tinker, finds a lump in her niece's neck while doing her hair.
After Beth breaks the news to her, a terrified Sinead quietly takes Daniel to one side and tells him she’s found a lump.
She then tries to encourage her husband-to-be to put his fears to one side and enjoy their day as he struggles to cope with her discovery.
But Daniel is too afraid and ends up fleeing the wedding, followed by Bethany who tries to get him to open up.
Daniel is too distraught to speak but manages to make his way to the wedding where he delivers an emotional speech.
The episode will see Sinead and Daniel dance through their tears as they both fear what the future holds for their family.
Meanwhile, the newlyweds are set to get more devastating news on Wednesday after Sinead attends a scan to find out what’s going on.
The newlyweds are floored when the oncologist tells them that Sinead’s cancer has spread to her lymph nodes and liver – meaning that she’s only got months to live.
A bereft Sinead blames herself for stalling over her chemo, but her husband reminds her that her choice meant she could bring their beautiful son into the world.
Daniel and Sinead hunker down together as they try to make sense of what’s happening to them.
Viewers of the hit ITV soap know that actress Katie McGlynn is the latest in a long line of big names set to depart from the cobbles in upcoming weeks.
Her heart-wrenching storyline also means there can be no Corrie return for the star, who leaves after six sensational years in Weatherfield.
Other cast members leaving include Kym Marsh, Faye Brookes and Tristan Gemmill.
