Coronation Street spoilers: Steve McDonald gets life-changing news – is he Emma’s father?
Coronation Street’s Emma Brooker (played by Alexandra Mardell) is about to have her whole life thrown upside down.
The hairdresser is about to discover the man she thought was her father is dead, and everything unravels when she begins to question her real dad.
She attends the funeral and meets her brother, Morgan (Corey Weekes), and the pair are shown a video from her mother, Fiona Middleton (Angela Griffin).
In it, the returning character reveals she knew her father wasn’t biologically hers, and what’s more, her brother knew the truth also.
At the same time, Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) has suspicious feelings Emma could be his.
He meets up with her and in a bid to get a snippet of her DNA, ends up pinching a lock of her hair.
Coincidentally, the results come through right when Emma is at her lowest at the funeral.
He sees her upset after her mother’s video and goes to comfort her.
However, he can’t help but tell her he has done a DNA test and he is actually Emma’s real dad.
Naturally, the news travels fast and Coronation Street residents have mixed reactions to the paternity result.

But for poor Emma, it’s an awful lot to take in and she turns to the only person she can trust, her mum.
Viewers will finally get to see Fiona on screen as she appears on Skype for a chat.
Will Fiona urge Emma to get close to her real father or will she tell her to keep clear?
And how will Steve react to the news? Will this tear him apart from Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford)?
Meanwhile, Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill) is currently engaged to Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) on the ITV soap, but has been playing away with Vicky Jefferies (Kerri Quinn) and has even got the latter pregnant.
This evening on the ITV soap, Robert managed to get Vicky to stick around the cobbles but it seems she is keen to spill the beans.
Fans know Robert will be leaving Weatherfield soon, but after warning Vicki to stay in her lane, could he actually be going out in a body bag?
Vicki was incredibly hurt to see Robert speaking to her that way, but will she get revenge on him?
Or will she merely tell Michelle what her beloved has been up to in his spare time?
Coronation Street continues tomorrow on ITV at 7.30pm.
