Corrie Lauren’s mystery boyfriend identity exposed as villain set for return
Coronation Street viewers and AI reckon they have rumbled the identity of Lauren Bolton’s mystery boyfriend.
The character, played by Cait Fitton, has been causing drama on the cobbles ever since she arrived in November last year. And over on the soap recently, she has been up to no good again.
After finding out about pal Ryan Connor’s affair with Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan), she blackmailed him. Lauren threatened to expose their affair to Daisy’s husband-to-be Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) unless he paid her £1000.

However, in a shock twist, it was revealed that someone had been pestering Lauren for the money. And in episodes this week, things took an even more suspicious turn.
As fans will recall Lauren works part-time at the iconic cafe on the cobbles, Roy’s Rolls. She also apparently works at a call centre as well for her second job.
However this week, Lauren’s cafe co-worker Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) caught Lauren in the precinct when she was supposed to be at work. Suspicious, Shona quizzed Lauren to which she told her she had swapped shifts.
The next day, she gifted Max Turned (Paddy Bever) a brand new watch as a thank you present. Max was touched but worried that the accessory was too expensive.
However, Lauren bruised it off and told him she got a promotion at the call centre. Later on, Max returned the gift as Shona watched on and wondered where Lauren got the money for the watch.
More suspicions arose when Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) told Shona that there was £80 missing from the till. Putting two and two together, she then accused Lauren of stealing from the till and suspended her from the job.
Lauren was left left fuming at Shona and denied the accusation. She then fronted it out and said to Shona she didn’t need the job because she has a new boyfriend who is loaded.
And in Coronation Street next week, Lauren receives some expensive-looking jewellery. After being quizzed by Shona, Lauren tells her it as a gift from her rich boyfriend.
Now, fans reckon they have twigged who her mystery new man really is. And it could lead to the return of cobbles villain and her dad Reece Bolton.
The bad guy is currently in prison for his involvement in Griff’s extremist group. But fans reckon she could be in cahoots with him.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “I had a feeling that's what Lauren's dad was making her do. What a piece of s***.” Someone else replied and wrote: “Yes it ran through my mind to be honest.”
A third chimed in and quipped: “Which returning character is Lauren on the phone to? Damon, Harvey? Reece or Tommy orpington?”
Other fans think a harrowing grooming storyline is on the horizon for Lauren. The viewer penned: “So Lauren is pimping herself out to take care of someone like a little sister or something? What a shock.”
Someone else mused: “Lauren is seeing some older bloke I think. It’s another grooming storyline on the way.”
What’s more, AI reckons her mystery "boyfriend" could be her dad Reece too. Daily Star has quizzed one of the world’s most popular artificially intelligent “creative” tools Bard AI to see if Lauren’s mystery boyfriend could in fact be her in dad in disguise.

The program responded that “it is possible” and explained there are a few reasons why it might be the case. It said: “Lauren has been receiving expensive gifts from her mystery boyfriend, which suggests that he is wealthy.
“This could be because he is her dad, who has been secretly keeping an eye on her. And wants to make sure she is well taken care of,” the program said.
Bard AI also noted: “Lauren has been seen talking to her mystery boyfriend on the phone, but he has never been seen on screen. This could be because he is trying to avoid being identified, as he doesn't want anyone to know that he is Lauren's dad.”
