Sally Dynevor has said that she hopes stint on Dancing On Ice will prove that life exists after going through the menopause.

The stunning Coronation Street star has opened up in an exclusive interview with Sunday Mirror about her time on the rink, and about being a 58 year old competing in the competition.

Proud to represent mature women up and down the country, the Sally Metcalfe actress has said that she wants to make going through the menopause a more "positive experience", while proving that women aren't invisible when they hit 50.

She told the publication: “I think when you get to a certain age you start to lose confidence in yourself. It’s very different being in your 20s to being in your 50s.

“You’ve got to find things that make you happy again. I want to inspire women of my age who are going through the menopause, or perhaps been through it, which is tough."

She then spoke of the "many negative stories" about women going through the menopause, before explaining how she wants to "make it into a positive experience".

“I just want to say to older women, ‘Let’s not give up, let’s be amazing in our 50s’," she told the publication.

The actress has played Sally Metcalfe on the cobbled streets of Coronation Street for almost four decades.

2022 has already been a pretty good year so far for the soap favourite.

Competing in the ITV skating show, becoming a favourite among fans and viewers, and then not forgetting her MBE for services to drama – it's save to say 2022 is her year.

The blonde beauty has three children with her husband of 27 years Tim – Bridgerton star Phoebe 26, Sam, 24, and Hattie, 18.

She also explained in the interview that when women reach their 50s, they can feel invisible because children grow up and leave home – leaving feeling lost.

She urged that women shouldn't feel this way and said: "absolutely I’m out to show we’re not [invisible]."
