Offering people reassurance during this difficult time, she said: “Here’s what I do in any worrying situation.
“One – remember, you’ll get through this and things will be alright. Even if they look uncertain, even if you’re worried – darkness never prevails.
“Two – tell jokes, even bad ones. Especially bad ones. I am brilliant at bad ones.
“Three – be kind, even kinder than you were yesterday. And I know you were super kind yesterday.
“Look out for each other. You won’t be the only one worried. Talking will help. Sharing will help. Look out for your friends, your neighbours, people you hardly know, and family. Because in the end we’re all family.
“Four – listen to science. And listen to doctors, right? They’ve got your back.
“Five – stay strong. Stay positive. You’ve got this. And I will see you very soon.”
Not surprisingly Doctor Who fans loved it and took to Twitter to praise the show and the character.
One person wrote: “THIS. This is why I LOVE the Thirteenth Doctor. Hope and optimism and positivity.”
A second added: “Thank you for the message of hope, which is so needed in such uncertain times…My heart feels lighter already.”
While a third tweeted: “I love how she has her very own costume just to wear around the house Face with tears of joy. That's dedication.”
Doctor Who’s kind words come as the country has been told to remain indoors as much as possible.
The UK coronavirus death toll today hit 433 as a study claimed up to HALF the population may have caught the killer bug.
